Classical Music Index

Patchogue-Medford Library has an unusually fine collection of classical music. The collection contains complete works in conductor's score format of a dozen of the best known composers.

There is also a large collection of solo and chamber music with separate instrumental parts, suitable for performance. Solo, duet, and chamber music ensemble parts are available for each instrument of the orchestra from bassoon to violin. A very extensive collection of vocal music is also available.

The Library has an extensive collection of piano-vocal scores for Broadway musicals. These can be found in the regular library catalog under "Musicals - vocal scores with piano".

Music, including complete parts for chamber music, may be borrowed directly or through interlibrary loan by any Suffolk County library cardholder or through the Long Island Library Resources Council.

A limited selection of orchestral music with complete parts is available for loan to conductors or representatives of community orchestras. The usual three week loan period for music is extended to allow for sufficient rehearsal time.
