School District Demographics
This site allows users to display Census 2000 data by school district. Users can display demographic and socio-economic data for an individual district or compare two school districts in the same state or across states. Data may be downloaded in a format compatible with most spreadsheet programs.

Air Quality
Air quality contributes to the quality of living. The Environmental Protection Agency calculates an Air Quality Index based on ground-level ozone, particulate matter, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.

Demographic Profiles -- 2000 Census
A profile includes tables that provide various demographic, social, economic, and housing characteristics for the U.S., regions, divisions, states, counties, minor civil divisions in selected states, places, metropolitan areas, American Indian and Alaska Native areas, Hawaiian home lands and congressional districts.

There are four tables in the Demographic Profile, labeled (DP-1 thru DP-4):

Facts and Figures About Your Community
Provides quick access to statistical information and reports from the U.S. Federal government in 12 broad categories --agriculture and food, business and economy, environment and energy, facts about the United States, government, healthy people, home and community, learning and jobs, public safety and justice, science and technology, travel and transportation, and the U.S. and the world. Information indexed includes some of the most requested data from the federal government.

Federation of Tax Administrators
A comparison in terms of percentage of income taxed and exemptions for children. View the states who do not deduct personal income tax.

Health and Crime - State by state
Click on the "Health Status" on the left for links to a variety of reports.This site allows you to locate statistics on diseases that can, in part, be linked to one's environment, such as asthma, cancer, heart disease, and obesity.
