Rules of Behavior

 

PATCHOGUE-MEDFORD LIBRARY
RULES OF BEHAVIOR
 
The Patchogue-Medford Library is a public library dedicated to helping people obtain reading material, information, and to benefit from library activities. The atmosphere must be conducive to carrying out these functions; therefore the following are not permitted:
 
  1. Disruptive behavior; interfering with other people’s use of the Library.
  1. Loitering, congregating, and hanging around.
  1. Smoking in all public areas including the vestibules.
  1. Loud, abusive, or threatening language.
  1. Rearranging furniture; more than one person per chair.
  1. Defacing or destroying Library material or property.
  1. Monopolizing the public telephones.
  1. Eating or drinking on Library property.
  1. Disturbing one or more persons by arguing, propagandizing, or preaching.
 
 
Library personnel and security guard will enforce these rules. Patrons not complying with these rules will be asked to leave. Library personnel and security guards are authorized to call the police if necessary.
