Required system specifications:
o PC with Internet connection (high speed highly recommended)
o Windows 98 SE or higher
o Microsoft Internet Explorer v6 (or compatible)
o Windows Media Player v.9 or higher, Musicmatch Jukebox v8.2 and above, or Nullsoft Winamp v5 and above. (Click here for a free download or upgrade to the Windows Media Player)
o Mac users need Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X to download and listen to eAudiobooks on their computers. Due to licensing issues, Mac users will NOT be able to transfer eAudiobooks to portable devices at this time.
In order to work with eAudiobooks, the only requirement is that the device must be able to support the playback of secure or protected wma files. (To learn more about secure or protected wma files and devices that support Window Media Audio visit Windows Media Plays for Sure).
Devices that have a storage capacity of 256 MB at a minimum are recommended since the average CD quality eAudiobook file size is 140 MB. Moreover, it is recommended that you choose devices that support features such as bookmarking (which allows you to designate a place within a file and return to that place after you stop or turn off your device) and full time stamping.
You can checkout a maximum of ten (10) eAudiobooks at any given time. Until the license for a currently downloaded eAudiobook expires, you will not be able to check out additional titles. With each download, NetLibrary automatically downloads a license that lets you access the eAudiobook for 21 days. The license lets you copy the eAudiobook to two additional portable listening devices.
eAudiobooks can be renewed at any point by logging into your account (without downloading the file a second time). A renewal provides you with an additional 21 days of access from the date of
renewal. eAudiobooks do not need to be returned because the license for downloaded eAudiobooks automatically expires after 21 days. You will not be able to play the
eAudiobook, even though the file remains on your personal computer and portable listening device. You need to manually delete the file from your personal computer and portable listening device.
There is no way to check an eAudiobook back in early. Each eAudiobook stays attached to your account for a full 21 days.
