Fishing Tackle Loaner

Library Users may check out a salt-water fishing rod and reel for three weeks with their library card. The first 100 persons to check out fishing equipment will also receive a free tackle box. The program is designed to introduce children and others to the wholesome outdoor activity of saltwater angling. Sponsors for the program include Congressman Michael Forbes, the National Marine Fisheries Service, NY Fishing Tackle Trade Association, The NY State Department of Environmental Conservation, the American Sportfishing Association, the Long Island Beach Buggy Association, the NY State Sportfishing Federation, and the Patchogue-Medford Youth Service.
